Manorlu Cardboard Boat Regatta Rules
Boat Construction Rules

Boats must be made primarily from corrugated cardboard.

The only materials permitted are:

Cardboard
-
Duct tape
-
Packing tape
-
Masking tape
-
Water-based paint or markers for decoration
-

No wood, plastic, foam, fiberglass, metal, PVC, inflatables, or pre-made boat parts may be used as structural components.

Boats may be any size, provided they fit safely in the pool and can be carried by their crew.

Paddles may be made from cardboard or commercially made kayak/canoe paddles.
Race Rules
-
The objective is to paddle to the finish line while staying afloat.
-
If your boat sinks, continue to the finish by swimming with your boat if you wish—sinking is part of the fun!
-
No intentionally splashing, tipping, pushing, or interfering with another boat.
-
Participants must follow all instructions from event volunteers and lifeguards.
Divisions
-
Parent & Child: Ages 6–8 (child rides, parent assists)

Youth: Ages 9–12
-
Teen: Ages 13–17
-
Family/Open: Mixed ages welcome

Safety
-
Lifeguards and event officials have the final authority on all safety matters.

Unsafe boats or unsafe behavior may result in disqualification.

All participants race at their own risk.
Most importantly: Have fun, be creative, and don't be afraid to sink!
